Pam Geisel recently participated in an on-line quilt challenge making six art quilts in a total of 12 weeks. Four of the six quilts won second place and she won first place over all. Two of those quilts are on display in the Springfield Museum of Art's 65th Annual Members' Juried Exhibition which runs through July 9. The museum is located at 107 Cliff Park Rd. in Springfield and is open Tues.-Sat. from 9 am-5 pm and Sun. from 12:30-4:30 pm.
Another one of the quilts from the on-line challenge will be in the Aullwood Audubon Center's 19th Annual Art Quilt Exhibit “Water, Water Everywhere” which runs from June 25 to August 21. This annual show attracts entries from across the country. The center is located at the Marie S. Aull Education Center, 1000 Aullwood Rd. in Dayton and is open on Mon.-Sat. from 9 am-5 pm and Sun. from 1-5 pm. There is a $4 admission and an opening reception on Sun., June 26 from 2-4 pm.
Pam also has a quilt in the Ohio Designer Craftsmen's Best of 2011 show. This show is primarily Ohio-based artists and travels to three locations. It is currently at the Ohio Craft Museum, 1665 W Fifth Ave. in Columbus and runs through June 19. The hours for the Ohio Craft Museum are Mon.-Fri. from 10 am-5 pm and Sat. and Sun. from 1-4 pm. The show will then move to the Southern Ohio Museum, 825 Gallia St. in Portsmouth from July 8 to August 27 and to the School of Art Gallery at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio from Oct. 11 to Nov. 11.
