Guerilla Knitters Unite!

Raise Your Needles in Support of Int'l Yarnbombing Day

Calling All Yarnbombers! Yellow Springs will be celebrating International Yarnbombing Day (technically June 11) ONE DAY EARLY on Friday, JUNE 10. All yarnbombers are invited to take part. We will meet at 9:30 a.m. outside Village Artisans in the Art Park, 100 Corry Street. Jafabrit Corrine Bayraktaroglu and Jafagirl Nancy Mellon are coordinating the event. Corrine is bringing a bag of already completed knitted pieces available to use for those who don't knit or crochet. Bring big needles to sew with and a pair of scissors.

The Mission: Yarnbomb trees lining Dayton Street, the Peace Pole (on the side of Williams Eatery), benches, the Knit Knot Tree on Xenia Avenue and other smaller areas. The effort will begin at 9:30 a.m. but all are welcome to yarnbomb throughout the day in celebration of International Yarnbombing Day.

Pics will be taken and posted to the web so please let Corrine or me know you do NOT want your picture taken. Please extend this invitation to all who you think might wish to participate.
