Street Fair this Saturday

Don’t forget Yellow Springs Street Fair this Saturday, October 9, a truly unique 1-day festival that fills the streets with art, crafts, food, music and entertainment.

Hundreds of vendors line the streets with arts, crafts, clothing, purses, great imported items and more. Come hungry because there is food from all over the world. Add that to the unique local shops and restaurants and you have a great day of shopping and eating.

Entertainment is also a fun aspect of Street Fair. Relax in the food tent at the Jackson Lytle Lewis Stage for entertainment throughout the day. The Project Jericho Bucket Band kicks off the entertainment at 11:00 followed by the exciting Egyptian Breeze Belly Dancers performing at noon and 2 pm. The rest of the afternoon you can listen to some great acoustic musical performances.

The Corner Cone at the corner of Dayton and Walnut Sts. will have music all day with a short theatrical performance at 2 pm from a local troupe of actors.

The Music Festival & Beer Garden at the Bryan Center starts at noon and lasts until 7. Sample a great beer lineup from Peach’s Grill as you listen to the great music with The Show kicking things off at noon, followed by Sawgrass, Dustin Vincent, Slipstream, Mercury Mouth, Romeo Champagne and closing with The Werks. The Werks will perform for free again at Peach’s Grill at 10.

To make getting to Street Fair easier, use our free shuttle service from Young’s Dairy at 6800 Springfield-Xenia Rd. or Yellow Springs High School at 420 E. Enon Rd. The shuttle service is available from 9 am to 7 pm. There are also several lots available for a small donation to local non-profit organizations; go to DestinationYellowSprings.com for a map and directions.

The event is free, open to the public and handicapped accessible. Handicapped parking is available at the Municipal Lot on Corry St . PETS are not allowed at Street Fair by ordinance and owners will be asked to leave. The Yellow Springs Chamber of Commerce thanks sponsors Antioch University Midwest, Wagner Subaru and WesBanco for their support of Street Fair.
