Horror Fest this Saturday

The Little Art's fourth annual all-night Halloween horror movie marathon begins at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9. (Doors open at 9:00)

This year's horror marathon will showcase seven feature films, including rare 35mm screenings of Sam Raimi's "The Evil Dead," the cult classic "Troll 2" and David Cronenberg's "The Brood."

The area premiere of "Best Worst Movie," a documentary about the surprise cult success of the famously bad "Troll 2" (which screens after "Best Worst Movie"), kicks off the event. "Troll 2" has a 0% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes and was once rated the worst movie of all time by users of the Internet Movie Database. This funny, affectionate documentary is directed by the now-adult child star of "Troll 2", Michael Paul Stephenson.

The marathon lineup also includes pristine, high-def digital presentations of Wes Craven's "Scream," "Child's Play" and the movie Entertainment Weekly called the scariest of all time, "The Exorcist."

There will be a costume contest at about 1:30 a.m. where the winner will be determined by audience applause. Contest prizes include posters and DVDs. A variety of classic and contemporary horror trailers will also be shown throughout the evening.

Tickets for the marathon are $20 each, and are on sale now at http://www.ohiohorrorfest.com. Tickets can also be purchased in person at the Little Art box office on the night of the event.

The Little Art Theatre in Yellow Springs is a nonprofit cinema showcasing the best in contemporary and classic film. More information about the theater can be found at http://www.littleart.com or by phone at 937. 767.7671.
