Thrill the World 2010 at Bryan Center

Local dancers Ali Thomas (pictured in pink tank top) and daughter, Charlotte, taught the first of two Michael Jackson "Thriller" dance-move workshops at the Senior Center on Saturday evening in preparation for the "Thrill the World 2010" event. The main event takes place at 7 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 23 at the Bryan Center, 100 Dayton Street. Lessons on how to dance the Thriller zombie dance sequence will begin at 5 p.m. leading up to the main attraction at 7 p.m. sharp: the largest simultaneous Thriller Dance being performed all around the world.

There will be another dance workshop at the Senior Center on Tuesday, Oct. 19, 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Participants are encouraged to dress like zombies to the main event at the Bryan Center. For information on the original "Thrill the World" concept, its founder, and links to videos of participating towns (including Yellow Springs), go to http://thrilltheworld.com.

For additional help on the dance moves, YouTube has all the movements split up into 40 sequential videos. View them at

So if we missed the first class is it too late to jump in the 5:00 class on Saturday?
