It would have been the icing on the cake to have won, but they still took the cake. To be nominated is brilliant and to bring attention to an important issue is wonderfu.
I never cease to be amazed at how many talented and wonderfully creative people live in such a tiny village.
I was astonished that "The Last Truck" made the first cut. Hollywood stays away from politics and this film was certainly political. It beautifully, painfully portrayed what Michael Moore predicted in his first film about General Motors. It's OK to admire roboticized manufacturing and feel sorry for displaced workers (remember John Henry?) but we wouldn't want the system of disposable workers to get all the exposure of an OSCAR.
