Miami Valley Cycling Summit set for May 20

Mark your calendar – the second Miami Valley Cycling Summit is set for Friday, May 20, at the Kroc Center in Dayton .

“This year’s Miami Valley Cycling Summit will focus on the power of cycling to drive economic development in communities big and small,” says Dayton City Commissioner Nan Whaley, a member of the planning team. Dayton is the host city for the summit. “Our theme is ‘Cycling Sells Cities.’”

Keynote speaker for the summit will be Bruno Maier, vice president of Bikes Belong, a national coalition of bicycle retailers and suppliers working to put more people on bikes more often. Maier is a Miami Valley native having spent most of his childhood in Oakwood.

The summit will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, May 20. On-line registration for the summit began March 21. Go to www.cyclingsummit.com to register. The first 200 people will receive a free cycling hat. Everyone who registers for the summit will receive a free lunch during the event.
