We are very excited to announce The University of Cincinnati’s first Summer Design Camp for rising high school sophomores, juniors and seniors! It will be held the week of June 19th, 2011 (Sunday afternoon) through June 25th, 2011 (Saturday morning). Information on the camp is included below and in the attached flyer and poster. Please post in your school and share this with any students you feel would benefit from the experience. We are happy to answer any questions directly through our email portal (daapcamps@ucmail.uc.edu) or by phone.

A limited number of DAAPcamps' scholarships are available in each design discipline through the generous contribution of: The Evelyn G. Burgoyne DAAP Design Summer Camp Scholarship Fund.

Please email our Camp Director at daapcamps@ucmail.uc.edu to request scholarship application information.

In this week-long residential camp, students can choose to focus on one of the following concentrations:
  • Fashion Design
  • Graphic Communication Design
  • Industrial Design.
Through hands-on activities and design projects, participants will define their interests and develop their skills.

Campers will be guided through this process by DAAP faculty, exposing campers to DAAP’s internationally renowned educational process.

DAAP Design Camp includes six days of classroom experience that culminates in a final project and a public exhibition. In the classroom, students will be immersed in the design process through a series of projects relating to fashion, graphic communication, or industrial design depending on their area of concentration. DAAP Design campers will also learn more about industry career paths and the University of Cincinnati’s celebrated cooperative education program.

DAAP Design Camp will be held on the University of Cincinnati’s west campus. All classroom experiences will take place in DAAP’s cutting edge facilities. Campers will reside in the Campus Recreation Center Housing.

All campers’ meals, fees, housing and supplies are included in the camp tuition. Each area of concentration is limited to 20 campers for the 2011 week-long experience. Campers are chosen on a first-come, first-serve basis.
