Driving around the village after the rain stopped this afternoon, two things caught my eye: they have knocked down a retaining wall around the Wright State Physicians building and are about to start demolishing the structure; and the limbs for Olga Ziemska's "Flock of Hands" sculpture have been delivered to the park by the train station. Installation starts tomorrow. Hopefully the sun will be out for photos at both venues.

We lose a medical clinic, and get...gloves on sticks. Yes, that is illustrative of the way things are going for Yellow Springs.
Your reference to "the train station" assumes everyone, local and visitors, knows where it is and what the building is called. If there are signs indicating the name of the building or its occupants and purpose, they are so small that they are not very functional. IMO the building, attractive though it may be, doesn't particularly look like a train station plus it is set back from the main street far enough that it's hard to spot when walking around south, east or west of Corry St.
I'm not in favor of huge signs going up around the village, but if visitors or locals need to find a place which is considered as central to the activities of downtown and the village at large, shouldn't there be a better way to find it?
If "train station" is the key idea, and good signs aren't being offered, then at least there ought to be a train, so people could have some way of identifying the place.
I agree Les. The medical clinic may not have been great art, but it sure was a great little clinic. Maybe Wright State would accept a trade?
Medical clinic is going to be rebuilt, right?
