Chamber News - Excerpts from the weekley update

It's Where You Live

During the week of October 5, Yellow Springs will be the featured community on the ABC 22/Fox 45 series entitled "It's Where You Live".

They will be in town filming special segments next week of all the things that are special about Yellow Springs. Thanks to several local businesses who purchased advertising, Yellow Springs was featured this past week also in several promotional spots about those businesses and the community. Those ads ran during daytime and prime time programming and will continue this week also.

See the feature segments all week during the following programs:
  • Fox in the Morning from 7-9 am
  • Fox Early Evening News from 6:30 -7 pm
  • Fox Late Evening News from 10:00 - 11 pm

Ohio Magazine Celebration

The kick off for Holiday in the Springs, the November 20 3rd Friday Fling will also be the celebration of our Ohio's Best Hometown designation by Ohio Magazine. Representatives will be in town to present us with an award and to sell copies of the magazine. More details will follow.


Chamber offering Copy Services

The Chamber office has a beautiful new Canon copier that will allow us to offer copier service to the community at reduced rates and more convenience that regional options. The prices have not yet been finalized but they will be cheaper than other options we've investigated. If you have color or black & white copy needs, call the office or email your documents to us with quantities and special instructions.

Breakfast Seminar - Selling to the Government

At Clark State College Greene Center on Friday, October 30th from 7:45 to 8:45 am.
Speaker - Meredith Threatt, Director of the Southwest Central Ohio Procurement Technical Assistance Center.

The strategies we will discuss apply not only to selling to the federal government but also to state governments, prime contractors, non-profits, universities and more.

Taste of IT Seminar

Sinclair Community College Ponitz Center
Cost: $85

This one day seminar provides IT professionals the opportunity to choose from a variety of relevant IT presentations.

These sessions are designed to address popular trends, future technologies, major initiatives and innovations in IT. The presentations are organized in three concurrent tracks, and topics are based on submissions from Technology First members and the 52-member Technology First CIO Council. Attendees will be able to participate in sessions from any track throughout the day, with time allotted to visit our exhibit booths.
