Bakari wife takes plea

In exchange for her testimony against the remaining defendants in the marijuana and cocaine distribution case, Bekelech M. Asefa, the widow of alleged drug kingpin Iddi Bakari, pleaded guilty to attempted complicity to racketeering and three counts of money laundering with a recommendation of probation when it comes time for her to be sentenced. According to the Greene County Dailies Website, the plea bargain also requires her to turn over the proceeds of the crime. Bakari and several other defendants in the case were at various times residents of Yellow Springs. Bakari committed suicide while awating extradition from Georgia in 2008.
