Arts Council Gallery to feature rock group

The Yellow Springs Arts Council presents Synesthesia: Rock n’ Roll Renaissance by artist and musician Ryan Henry, guitarist of rock group The Show. An opening event will be held on Saturday, July 16 from 6-9pm at the YSAC Gallery and Exhibition Space, 309 Xenia Ave. The evening will include a collection of Henry’s original concert posters in mixed media including collage, marker, and screen-print as well as contributions from guest artists. Henry’s design derives influence from Art Noveau and Psychedelic poster genres. Henry’s band, The Show, will perform live during the opening event at 6:30pm and again at 8pm.

The Show, a Springfield-Yellow Springs based trio, also features Matt Housh on drums and vocals and Jessica Kinzer on keyboards and lead vocals. The Show performs original, high-energy music that spans genres from garage and surf, to punk and funk. For more information on The Show, go towww.myspace.com/theshowwillgrow. This event is free and open to the public.

Synesthesia: Rock n’ Roll Renaissance runs through August 13. Open gallery hours are Saturdays and Sundays 10am-2pm: July 17, 23, 24, 31 and August 6, 7 and 13.
