For something a little quieter…

Quilting...

This weekend is sure to be filled with lots of music, food, crowds, and dance. For those who enjoy something a little quieter, there are two events just for you.

Local quilters’ work will be featured at two different art shows in the area.

“Water, Water Everywhere” Art Quilt Exhibit at Aullwood Audubon Center

The show features nature-themed art quilts from 28 art quilters from across the country including Yellow Springers Lori Gravley, Fran LaSalle and Pam Geisel.

The show runs through August 21 at the Marie S. Aull Education Center, 1000 Aullwood Rd. in Dayton. The center is open Mon.-Sat. from 9 am-5 pm and Sun. from 1-5 pm. There is a $4 admission. The building also houses an educational center and there are hiking trails.

DVAC 20th Annual Open Members Show Opening Reception TONITE

DVAC will host a magnificent reception for the Members Show “Light” that is old home week and a place to meet new artists, all rolled up into one great party.

“Light” runs from July 15-August 20 with an opening reception TONITE, July 15, from 5-8 pm. DVAC is located at 118 N. Jefferson St., Dayton and is open from Tues.-Sat. 11 am-6 pm.

Pam Geisel and Lori Gravley both have work in the show.
