Local quilters showing in Xenia

This quilt is being raffled off at the Quilter's Guild 2010 show.

Five Yellow Springs quilters are participating in the Miami Valley Quilters' Guilds' 2010 is show “Quilts: Traditional, Innovative and Challenging” with work from its more than 200 members. The Yellow Springs members are Amy Ciric, Kathy Evens, Pam Geisel, Fran LaSalle and Pat Stevenson.

The show features quilts and fabric arts representing the entire range of quilting from traditional work done entirely by hand through traditional patterns pieced and quilted by machine and on to the latest in contemporary and art quilts.
Vendors, local, regional and national, will have fabric, equipment and supplies for today's quilter and those presenting antique quilted items for sale will also be available.

Guild members offer their own work for sale in a boutique which benefits the guild's charitable activities and a beautiful king size quilt made by members will be available as a raffle prize.

Visitors will be asked to vote for their favorite quilts in a number of categories as well as "Best of Show" and awards will be presented to the members in recognition of the popularity of their work

The Greene County Fairgrounds Assembly Hall, 120 Fairgrounds Road, Xenia, Ohio, provides an ideal setting for the show. The building is handicap accessible and there is ample parking adjacent to the facility.

The show will be open Friday, May 7, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, May 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $5 and there is ample free parking and the building is handicap accessible.
