Joshua Seitz organizes Benefit Concert for
Friends Music Camp and YS Kids Playhouse
When: Sunday, May 16th 4:00pm
Where: Senior Center Great Room, downtown Yellow Springs
Donation: $5 (more graciously accepted)
Becoming a bar or bat mitzvah is a rite of passage for Jewish boys and girls as they turn 13. It signals becoming an adult in the Jewish community. One way to show growing maturity is for the youth preparing for the bar or bat mitzvah to engage in a community service project.
Joshua Seitz decided that he wanted to organize a benefit performance for Friends Music Camp and YS Kid Playhouse as his mitzvah project because being a part of FMC and YSKP has made the last 4 summers “totally fun.” “The people at Friends Music Camp are really friendly and willing to help you with whatever endeavors you choose to do, whether it be playing banjo or learning ultimate Frisbee. At YSKP, the musicals use creative twisting plots to watch and that I enjoy performing in.”
Joshua will be returning to Friends Music Camp for his 4th summer in July. He has performed in 5 YSKP shows and plans to play clarinet for this summer’s musical.
He has recruited teen musicians and actors who also care about these organizations.
They include:
Eli Seitz – fiddle
Erin Grote- cello
Adam Zaremsky and Elliot Cromer – acting
Sam Holman-Smith – ukulele
Porter Fitch – guitar
Connor Gravely-Novello- Trumpet
Porter Fitch – guitar
Hollister Fitch – bass
Ben Green – cello
Joshua Seitz –clarinet, banjo, and piano (including the public debut of 3 original piano compositions)
Joshua is willing to open the program to a few more enthusiastic participants. Kids, if you want to be part of this great event, call Joshua 767-8529.
Please come to the Senior Center Great Room at 4pm Sunday, May 16th.
Support FMC and YSKP.
