Enjoy the fast paced, action-filled excitement of a 20 mile short course bike race at the 3rd Friday Fling in the Springs on May 21. Festivities start at 5 as professional cyclists race around the 1 block course at Mills Lawn School on Walnut St. in downtown Yellow Springs.

After watching the races, head 1 block over to Xenia Ave. for the regular 3rd Friday Fling action including live music, wine tasting and late evening shopping. Stop by Current Cuisine for a snack or sit down in one of our great restaurants for a relaxing meal. Then see a great film at the Little Art Theatre showing at 7 and 9.

Around the corner on Corry St., “would you, could you” In A Frame hosts a reception for local artist Simeon Kresge-Okia and her Chromogenic color print exhibit and The ArtSpace at 108 Dayton St. features Works in Progress: Artwork of the Human Form.

After visiting the galleries, stop by Brother Bear’s CafĂ© for a delicious latte and to listen to live music. And farther up the street at Corner Cone there will be more live music and of course ice cream. End the night at Peach’s Grill where Big Gil & His Funky All Stars start playing at 10 pm.

Bike racing continues on Saturday as racers take to the country roads for a 40 mile road race starting at 10 am on Corry St. in front of Miami Township Fire & Rescue. You can watch the start and finish at that location but for an even more exciting view, go to Grinnell Road to watch the riders climb the hill on Bryan Park Road.

Glen Helen is a great place to hike all weekend but on Sunday at 1, there is also a Wildflower Hike to enjoy departing from the Trailside Museum at 1 pm.
