Artoberfest, Oct 16

Reap the fruits of fall culture at the first annual Yellow Springs Artoberfest on Saturday, October 16 from 5 to 10 pm. Yellow Springs Arts Council (YSAC) plans its new fundraiser as a celebration of music, beer, food, wine and the art of the stein. Artoberfest will be held at the Barr property on the corner of Limestone and Xenia Ave, next to YSAC’s new home in Alan MacBeth’s building.

Enter your favorite beer container in the Finest Stein contest to be judged by local artists and celebrities between 7 and 8 pm. Seasonal beers, wines and food will be available and live bands will perform. Brewing and other food and drink demonstrations are planned. After completing the Yellow Springs Artist Studio Tour Saturday afternoon, art lovers can finish their trip at Artoberfest as the perfect end to a day of cultural adventure.

Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the gate. They can be purchased in advance at the YSAC booth at Yellow Springs Street Fair or online at yellow-springs-experience.org.

YSAC is kicking off its membership drive at Artoberfest. YSAC members and those who join YSAC at the Artoberfest event will receive a discount in the ticket price. For more information about YSAC events and member benefits, visit ysartscouncil.org.
