The biggest, best Street Fair ever

One year I over heard a visitor telling a friend that the Yellow Springs Street Fair is the best.

And every year seems to be bigger and better than the year before.

But this year... Wow! It took me 20 minutes to get from Dayton and Corry to the front steps of US Bank.

Thanks to Karen, the Chamber staff and all those volunteers! This truly was the best and a logistical marvel.

Thanks Virgil. It was a great Street Fair with no problems whatsoever. I've never seen so many people just relaxing, laughing and enjoying Yellow Springs.

The Music Festival & Beer Garden was full all day with people of all ages enjoying music, dancing and relaxing in the shade. Thanks to Don Beard and his folks for the coordination required there.

Street Fair could only happen with great volunteers and staff. The Police Department, Miami Township Fire and Rescue and all of the Village staff and crews work very hard the day of Street Fair and in planning leading up to it. Thanks to Mills Lawn for the use of the school and to Jackson Lytle Williams for the wonderful addition that venue has been. And thanks to the citizens who put up with the inconveniences of the day. I also must recognize Krystal Luketic, Chamber Coordinator, who came in for her first Street Fair and did a phenomenal job coordinating vendors and volunteers.

Street Fair has gotten bigger ... and better. After every Street Fair we meet, discuss and regroup. We need to keep up with the growth of trash, traffic, people and porta-potty needs. We'll work out the kinks for October. It's about improving Street Fair and making the experience better for our visitors, businesses and residents.

Street Fair is Yellow Springs at its finest. It's art, it's music, it's dancing, it's our non-profits, it's food, it's fun but most importantly, it's this community showing ourselves as warm, welcoming, talented people who can bring this kind of a festival together and have fun doing it. Thanks to the entire community for the support.
