The Yellow Springs Strings is an intergenerational orchestra (violin, viola, cello and bass) open to all who are interested in playing "medium to hard" classical music. Rehearsals are Tuesdays, 7-8:30 p.m. in the Senior Center Great Room. Anyone who plays a stringed instrument is welcome.
Concerts, recitals and community service programs are given throughout the year. Performance is just one aspect of the orchestra's mission. Playing and improving, making friendships and sharing pure enjoyment are at the core.
The orchestra is sponsored by the YS Youth Orchestra Association, a not-for-profit support group for music education. There are no fees. Call Shirley Mullins at 767-3361 for more information.
