Update on New Polling Place

This change affects all YS voters

This November all voters in Yellow Springs will go to the South Gym on the Antioch College Campus to vote. There will be no more polling at the First Presbyterian Church or Bryan Center.

In a recent email, Greene County Board of Elections Member Don Hollister explained the reasoning behind the change. "The Board of Elections has tried to consolidate voting locations in order to save money, " Hollister wrote. "Fewer locations means simpler delivery and pick up of equipment, fewer personnel required on election day, less rent... All these savings are modest, but we are constantly being squeezed by the county commissioners. The budget situation is not pretty. By making these changes during an 'off year' election we hope to minimize confusion and will have a chance to evaluate the effects."
