Kick off the Holiday shopping season at this month’s 3rd Weekend Fling in the Springs beginning Friday with ‘A Springs Illumination’ at 6pm, join us as we light up the Springs for the holidays. Begin your holiday shopping off the beaten path, in addition to convenient later shopping hours, Yellow Springs’ green store Eco-mental will be celebrating their third anniversary, come make merry with them and find the perfect gifts for the environmentally conscience people on your list!. Main Squeeze will be holding free brewing and cheese making demonstrations, revealing just how easy it is to do it yourself!
There will be free carriage rides, live entertainment throughout down town, and several gallery openings including “would you, could you” In A Frame at 113 Corry which will be featuring “The Polaroid Project”, Painted Portraits on Cardboard by Liz Zaff. Yellow Springs Arts Council at 309 Xenia Ave will feature an opening reception for “Portrait of a Woman” exploring femininity from different perspectives.
In addition, Yellow Springs Montessori will be offering babysitting from 6-9 at the Presbyterian Church on Walnut for a suggested donation of $10 per child. Reservations requested, but not required.
After an evening of shopping and Gallery Hopping, Sunrise Café will be serving one of a kind Martinis as well as a offering items from their tapas menu. Peach’s Grill will feature live entertainment and friendly atmosphere, both are open late.
Saturday will be filled with holiday fun for the entire family, beginning at noon at Kings Yard there will be a family treasure hunt, bring the children and search for clues throughout downtown leading to a visit from a certain jolly man in a red suit! There will be games and prizes as well as an opportunity for the adults to enter to win a gift basket filled with treasures from our down town merchants!
The 3rd Weekend Fling begins November 19th and encompasses all of downtown Yellow Springs. So begin your holiday season off the beaten path!
