Stills from Yelloween

Yelloween” in Yellow Springs was a nonstop party starting with "Hallow Gene" mixing music Saturday afternoon at the Creepy Carnival in King’s Yard, sponsored by Ye Olde Trail Tavern. While children played Games of Chance, adults gathered together in the new Beer Garden.

Luke and Sally Dennis and their children stop to discuss the merits of candy with Kent Bristol on the driveway of Bob and Sue Swaney. The Swaneys (owners of Corner Cone) have their own Halloween tradition: setting up benches and an outdoor fireplace and inviting villagers to sit in between trick-or-treating rounds. The sunset that night was particularly stunning and complimented a night of treats: Gravedancers’ Ball at “Coroner Cone,” “Thrill Yellow Springs” reprise at BP parking lot, and A Mad Hatter’s Tea Party on Corry Street. Thanks to all the participating businesses and organizers for a full day of events and permission to act like a kid.
