The Glen Helen Association is hosting an art exhibition titled Clay & Cloth – Artistry in Quilts & Pottery from November 30 to December 23, 2009. Art quilts by Fran LaSalle and pottery by Geno Luketic will be featured. Show hours are 9:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday and 10 am to 4 pm on Saturdays and Sundays in the Glen Helen Building located at 405 Corry Street in Yellow Springs. Admission is free. The public is invited to attend a reception to meet the artists on Sunday, December 6 from 4 pm to 6 pm.

The show features original nature themed art quilts by Fran LaSalle and decorative ceramic by Geno Luketic. Both artists have been inspired by the beauty of Glen Helen’s nature preserve where they are active volunteers. LaSalle’s art quilts incorporate birds, flowers and other nature motifs. Luketic’s ceramic cups and vases are influenced by the organic hues and forms of earth and stone.

All artwork is available for purchase and many pieces will be priced for gift giving. A portion of the proceeds goes to support the Glen Helen Ecology Institute and its 1,000-acre nature preserve.

For more information call the Glen Helen Ecology Institute at (937) 769-1902 or visit www.glenhelen.org.
