Chamber starts Fall Street Fair promo

If it’s fall, it’s Street Fair time. As in the Yellow Springs Street Fair, October 10 from 9 am to 5 pm. Enjoy all of the sights, sounds and tastes of this incredible one-day festival that attracts visitors, vendors and entertainers to the lovely, eclectic streets of Yellow Springs.

Visit over 250 booths selling fine arts & crafts, clothing, jewelry, fair trade items, unique gifts and even massages. You’ll be sure to find your favorite vendors along with many exciting new ones. Don’t forget to stop into the local shops welcoming visitors to shop for all of the unique local items.

Food is the star of every festival, Street Fair being no exception. Find a wide variety of food, all located on Walnut St. including Thai wraps, Mexican empanadas, Cajun, curry, Vietnamese shish k-bob, hot dogs, fries, funnel cakes and much more. Relax in the Jackson Lytle Food Tent next to the food area and enjoy music and entertainment throughout the day including local favorites, Egyptian Breeze Belly Dancers performing at 11 and 1. For those wanting a different culinary experience, the fine restaurants of Yellow Springs offer a tasty alternative.

For a break from shopping, stop by the Music Festival at the Bryan Center on Dayton St. from noon to 7. While you’re listening to the music, enjoy a microbrew from the Beer Garden, featuring 8 delicious selections from Peach’s Grill, voted Dayton’s best beer bar.

To make getting to Street Fair easier we’re providing a free shuttle service. You can park at north at Young’s Dairy at 6800 Springfield-Xenia Rd. or west of town in a location to be announced. The shuttle service is available from 9 am to 7 pm.
The event is free, open to the public and handicapped accessible. Handicapped parking is available at the Municipal Lot on Corry St. PETS are not allowed at Street Fair by ordinance and owners will be ticketed. I really do hope that folks will actually be ticketed if they bring pets. Every year I see very upsetting and dangerous encounters between the animals (with four legs) and people - some of the people very, very young. It's just not fair to the pets or to the street fair attendees, especially when publicity says "NO PETS".
