Local woman, Susan Gartner, who is recovering from uterine cancer, has garnered regional publicity by having her head painted.
“I’m not only using the experience to get through the cancer treatments myself but to also make myself available to others who are going through this,” she said. “The head art turns out to be an effective ice breaker … They’re not coming over to talk about cancer, they’re coming over to talk about art,” Gartner told the Dayton Daily News in a recent article.
