Is it a 3rd weekend again, already..?

Third Weekend Fling in the Springs

The 3rd weekend kicks off with a bang with the Art Stroll on Friday, June 17 from 6-9 pm with shops open late and galleries featuring special exhibitions.

The walls at “would you, could you” In A Frame at 213 Corry St . will be filled with tiny treasures as they host the Opening Reception for their most popular show, Miniature Works of Art.

The newest gallery in town, The Springs Gallery will be holding their Grand Opening. They are located down the red brick road in Kings Yard, right next door to Yellow Springs Pottery.

Other downtown galleries with special exhibits include Yellow Springs Arts Council Gallery, The Eddie Eckenrode Gallery and Village Artisans. John Bryan Community Pottery will be open also, located behind the John Bryan Community Center on Dayton St.

Get a beautiful haircut from the stylists at Wavelength Aveda Salon and Spa as they host their first Cut-A-Thon from 5-9 pm at the Shoppes of 100 Corry St. Professional cuts are only $20 and all proceeds benefit WYSO. While there, hear live music from Soul Rebels from 8-9 pm.

A Fling highlight is the performance of our own Soul Fire Tribe and their incredible fire dancing in Kings Yard, 9 pm.

In addition to art hopping, you can shop, see a movie at the Little Art Theatre or dine in one of our many excellent restaurants. Stop by Emporium for wine tasting and the high energy music of local band The Undercovered. Across the street, DJ Clean Gene spins records at Ye Olde Trail Tavern. The Martini & Tapas Bar at Sunrise CafĂ© opens at 9:30 and Peach’s ends the night with the music of Sawgrass at 10.
