I have to correct PeeWee. It was never suggested by Council or the Village Manager that this levy would not come back for renewal when it was first put before the voters in 2006. We recognized that the job creation necessary to replace the levy would take some time. In fact, it would take in the neighborhood of 960 jobs to replace the money raised from this levy.
I'm happy to have the opportunity to clarify that Les. My use of the word "rogue" only referred to a non-Village website. Council has been very vocal about wanting the business of Village commissions to be done only via the Village website rather than through independently established websites. When HRC wanted to set up their own website not connected to the Village website, we asked them to work within the confines of the Village site and they did. I was concerned with having an "Unofficial website of Yellow Springs Community Access (Time Warner Channel 5)" but I've learned from the Village solicitor that there is nothing to prevent a private individual from posting public business so I've dropped the issue.

And now it's a one-time levy AGAIN!
