Discovering Native American Culture and History for Kids
Through the eyes of local Native American history, students will learn their culture and how they lived in this area. Singing, dancing, playing instruments, enjoying food and making a necklace are included. Taught by Jan Thomas. Jan is a retired Dayton schoolteacher with 35 years experience in arts and theater. Her late husband Roger was of Cherokee and Chippewa heritage and pipe carrier for the Dayton Native American Council. Jan is an adopted member of the Wolf Clan of the Cherokee. Ages 7-14.
