No, Mozart hasn't been arrested. In fact, he has long been dead. But, there will be a free concert of his musical work, performed by the YS Community Chorus and Chamber Orchestra under the direction of James Johnston, July 18th at 7:30 pm in the Antioch College Amphitheater.
The evening will include Mozart’s Symphony No. 28, choruses from The Marriage of Figaro, the motet Ave Vernum Corpus and humorous canon Bona Nox. Jennifer Gilchrist will sing the aria Dove Sono from The Marriage of Figaro. Young performers from the YSKP production of Mo’s Night at the Opera will also perform.
This event follows the YSKP Chicken Cook-off, at 6:00 pm at the Antioch Amphitheater. Guests are invited to sample chicken dishes prepared by wonderful chefs from The Winds, Sunrise Café and Current Cuisine of Yellow Springs. This part of the evening is a fundraiser for YSKP and the cost is $15. Please reserve a spot by calling 767-7800.
