A Country Christmas at Clifton Opera House

Saturday, December 10

On Saturday, December 10th the Clifton Opera House will host a Country Christmas with Mike Elliott and friends. Mike has been playing since the age of 10. He has worked with various groups since he started to play professionally at age 12 most recently with Beracah Valley Bluegrass. He has played fingerstyle guitar since a young age and currently plays jazz and bluegrass. Mike will be joined by Peggy Welty and Jerome Scott.

Peggy is one of the most gifted musicians to come out of the Dayton/Fairborn area. A highly versed guitarist, she in recent years has become one of the greatest harpist in demand in Ohio. She attended Bowling Green University's guitar program and went on to learn other styles of music in addition to classical. She is at home in most any style of music but has a love for bluegrass, playing in the all girl group The Wildwood Girls during her career.

Jerome Scott hails from Covington, KY. He is an accomplished song writer/ acoustic guitarist. Jerome's insightful music blends celtic, folk and americana. You'll be imagining a quiet snow storm when he plays his own composition "The Snow Song". Jerome has a unique finger picking style that evolved from his classical guitar studies.

The box office opens at 6:30pm, show starts at 7:30pm. The Opera House is located at 5 So. Clay Street, Clifton. Call 937-767-2343 for more information or visit the website www.villageofclifton.com. This will be the last show of 2011. The Opera House re-opens on January 14th with the Jazzy group "Ain't Misbehaving".
