Grow operation discovered on Allen Street

The telltale glow of a 250 watt bulb round the clock through closed blinds is always the giveaway. The little sprouts, picked up at a new business in Xenia last week, need lots of warmth to nurture them to maturity. By all accounts, the product was coming along nicely when it was discovered by a boarder in the Allen Street house.

"What's that smell?" he asked of the pungent aroma emanating from the room across the hall from his when he arrived home from work one day last week.

The owners of the house were pretty sure they could count on his silence, so they let him have a look. But, alas, he was soon on the phone to his girlfriend who was in Chicago for the Easter weekend and the secret was out.

"Too bad she missed seeing them when you first brought them home," he said. "Do you think they will still be this cute when she comes over next week?"

"Probably not," one of the co-conspirators said. "They grow like weeds."

April 1 is a good time to start some chicks.
