Barr Burn rescheduled to May 19

UPDATE: The burn down of the Barr House is now scheduled for Sunday, May 19th with back-up dates of the following two Sundays. The date was pushed back to comply with OEPA & RAPCA rules regarding asbestos removal. The small amounts of asbestos found in the house by the licensed asbestos inspector have been removed (this is why the windows are gone). Over the next week you will see fire crews at the Barr House removing roofing materials as required by OEPA & the National Fire Protection Association. If there are any questions, please feel free to contact me at the fire station or at 767-7842.

From the Chief: Crews should be out there around 9 am and we should start small fires in the house around 10 am.  I anticipate burning the entire structure around 1:30 pm.
