WYSO Fall Fund Drive - Oct. 10-14

Public Radio station WYSO 91.3FM will hold the on-air portion of its fall fund drive beginning the morning of Wednesday, October 10th until 5pm on Sunday, October 14th.

Over 20 guests will join the WYSO staff on the air including the Dayton Daily News' Ron Rollins, Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra conductor Neil Gittleman, and local filmmakers Julia Reichert and Steve Bognar.  Over 30 volunteers from WYSO's nine county listenership will answer phones in support of the station's $220,000 financial goal.

"The WYSO team just loves the fall drive because it's such an energizing time. It's a reminder that we exist f or our listeners - and for five wonderful days the phones ring with their voices,” says Luke Dennis, WYSO Development Director.

The theme for the fund drive is "Where Else But WYSO" to reflect the station’s unique blend of local, national and international news, entertainment and music programming.  Limited edition t-shirts, hooded sweatshirts and stickers with the "Where Else But WYSO" logo will be offered as thank you gifts to donors during the drive.

Dennis says, ‘Where Else but WYSO?' is a rhetorical question.

“Our loyal listeners know that when they tune in to WYSO they are hearing things they can't hear anywhere else. Where else but WYSO can you hear news from around the world and from your own backyard? Where else but WYSO can you hear in-depth coverage that goes beyond the sound bite? Nowhere else," says Dennis.

91.3 WYSO is licensed to Antioch University.  It carries programming from NPR, Public Radio International, American Public Media and others, in addition to 40 hours of locally- produced programming weekly. It distributes programs on multiple platforms: FM, HD,  via on-line streaming at www.wyso.org and on the Public Radio Player for iPhone users and the NPR News App for Android users.
