YSKP’s Winter/Spring term will
run from January 14-April 20, in The Playhouse, 910 Corry St., Yellow
Springs. There will be an Open
House/Registration day on Saturday, January 12th from 1-3pm.,
including sample classes.
New classes
include:
•Dayton Contemporary Dance
Company style contemporary dance classes for children and adults,
taught by DCDC member Vanae Pate.
•Teen/Adult Intermediate Contemporary Dance class with Ri
Molnar, an Antioch College graduate, will involve an eclectic blend of butoh,
release technique, contact improvisation, somatic practices, and plain and
simple booty shakin’.
•YSKP alum Ara Beal will teach Stories We Tell, a theater class based on storytelling.
•Teri
Clark Linden will teach Reading Shakespeare’s Mind, for students 18 and up. This class will utilize Shakespeare's First Folio Technique, a method by which the
actor creates character and performance through deciphering clues and codes
Shakespeare wrote into his plays for his actors.
•Singing Broadway, with Sally Dennis, is a class for
teens and adults focused on singing contemporary and classical Broadway tunes.
We continue to
offer:
•Hip Hop classes for children and adults taught by
Cameron Stuart and Janay.
•Ballroom Dancing, including such styles as swing,
salsa, rumba, and merengue, with Mario Kraszewski.
•Kindermusik, Creative Movement, and the Fluid Core
with Jill Becker
•Club Glee taught
by Sally Dennis
There
will be a recital on April 20th in the Antioch College South Gym
