GCPL ranked in top ten in population category

Hennen's American Public Library Ratings has named the Greene County Public Library as one of the ten best in the country in its population category for 2009. This is the third time GCPL has made the list. The State of Ohio ranked number one overall.

Speaking as a Yellow Springs Library Association board member: There will be a GCPL renewal levy on the ballot this November. Given state cuts in library budgets this year, it is extremely important that the levy pass in order to keep our library open. Yellow Springs has the highest per capita usage of the library in the system, so I know I'm preaching to the choir here. But whenever you have a chance, talk it up to your friends and associates in other towns in the system. In hard times there is an even greater demand for library services.
